Primal Odyssey, the 2nd album from Arun Ghosh, is the sound of Ghosh's Horn E Bass Quintet featuring a frontline of clarinet, bass clarinet and tenor saxophone sparring with a powerful bass and drums rhythm section.

Harnessing the power of the live sound, Primal Odyssey marks a back-to-basics approach to recording. Five musicians in a room, playing together, interacting - a classic jazz set up - beautifully capturing the sound of the room, the blend of the horns - giving the quieter contemplative moments a heightened intimacy and vulnerability whilst magnifying the explosive drive of the rhythm section.
